A Message to Our Patients

Kidi-Splint / SplintPros has been helping physically challenged people towards a life of greater mobility and independence for more than a decade. We are orthotic specialists, trained to provide quality care and appliances to patients with congenital and/or traumatic disabling conditions to their skeletal structure or limbs.

Accessibility
Our convenient locations means we are never far away. We have a toll free customer service line to answer your questions, and match you to the appropriate office and specialist in our company. You can visit us for adjustments and consultation, knowing that care will be provided in a professional, expert, and timely manner.

Patient records are cross-linked, so you can receive treatment in both locations with a continuum of care provided. We keep your physician advised when a prescribed treatment is completed.

Certified Professionals
All our orthotist's are certified and our staff has special training in pediatrics and geriatrics, so you can be assured the age-specific needs of your patient or child will met.

Less Down-Time
Our goal is to speed your recovery time and increase your activity to optimum levels. This means in emergencies our products can be available in 24 hours, enabling you to begin the rehabilitation process quickly, without spending needless weeks waiting for an appliance.

We are available for home visits when medically necessary, and will coordinate our services with visiting nurses and therapists for complete care. House calls are usually provided at no additional fee.

Why an Orthotist?
While many of the conventional dynamic splints now available can be applied successfully by a range of practitioners, the involvement of an experienced, board-certified orthotist in initial casting, fabrication and fitting and for subsequent adjustments is strongly recommended, particularly for neurologically involved patients, others presenting with more challenging indications, and in frequently difficult long-term care settings.

Well-versed in biomechanics and experienced in working with the complete range of orthoses and materials, the certified orthotist can provide invaluable input in helping the rehab team determine what orthotic approach and system will work best for the patient the first time, thereby saving on costly replacements and restarts.

Further, the orthotist brings access to a complete workshop for customizing any orthosis to provide optimum patient comfort and accommodate unusual anatomy or medical conditions, as well as for making timely and cost-saving repairs and adjustments.

Successful management of contractures caused by spasticity secondary to stroke, head trauma or neurological disease frequently walks a fine line between insufficient corrective tension and pressure sufficient to trigger a spastic response, which more than cancels any therapeutic effect. Moreover, inadvertent application of excessive pressure can produce a fracture, particularly for older patients with long-term inactivity or undiagnosed osteoporosis.

For both concerns, our well-qualified orthotic staff offers special training and experience for successful contracture treatment with dynamic orthoses that uniquely address both precise therapeutic tension and a custom design to maximize outcome for challenging patients. Please call our office if we can help in the care of your patients with functional rehabilitation needs.
