SureStep Dynamic Stabilizing System
SureStep is a revolutionary concept in controlling foot and ankle pronation in children with low tone. The advanced, patented technology of SureStep outperforms traditional bracing in combating this type of medial/lateral instability while promoting normal function.

Improved Efficiency:
Children who pronate expend a great deal of energy through their feet, legs and upper body in an attempt to counter imbalances caused by pronation related instabilities. The SureStep system helps to stabilize the foot and ankle, which reduces the need for extensive balance compensation.

Increased Stability:
While there are many different types of orthoses that attempt to correct hypotonic pronation, they do so by locking the foot into a static alignment. Only the SureStep system uses the unique patented principle of compressing the foot, through the use of an extremely lightweight, thin and flexible plastic, creating a stable midline position from which the foot can move naturally through the gait cycle. This truly dynamic concept allows for more natural movement of the foot and ankle while still maintaining proper alignment in standing, walking and running.

Help Them Learn Right:
As children begin to take steps, they build and reinforce their gait muscle strategies and movement patterns. The unique design of the SureStep allows for intrinsic movement, therefore, the intrinsic musculature, muscle strategies, balance reactions and movement patterns necessary for a natural, efficient and stable gait are encouraged.

Better Alignment
Excessive pronation puts undue stress on the knees and the hips by changing the alignment of the lower extremities, taxing the muscles of the legs greatly. This often results in complaints of fatigue and "tired legs". The SureStep system helps to stabilize the foot and ankle, which helps to relieve the stress from the knee and hip joints and allows the muscles to work more efficiently and joints to travel more efficiently.

Patterns
The colorful, exciting patterns, can make SureStep fun to wear. That helps make the parent's job easier, too. (Also available in white) Parents will also appreciate that SureStep can be worn with regular shoes and socks. No special footwear is required!

The SureStep H.E.K.O. is a fully functional hyperextension orthoses for smaller pediatric patients. The H.E.K.O. approaches hyperextension of the knee movement without limiting normal function. Controlling genu recurvatum has traditionally been addressed at the ankle, limiting plantarflexion. This in turn limits the development of normal gait and reduces the child's ability to function naturally and keep up with his peers.

Wheaton Brace AFO
Manufacturer: Wheaton Brace

The Wheaton Brace has been specifically designed for the primary treatment of Metatarsus adductus in infants, and replaces castings and corrective shoes in most cases. It is a new application of the time-tested three-point fixation principle used for the correction of deformities in orthopedics.

Wheaton Bracing System (KAFO)
Manufacturer: Wheaton Brace

The KAFO consists of the Wheaton Brace AFO connected to a thermoplastic upper component (Knee extension, KO) with touch fasteners. The upper component is designed to keep the knee flexed at 90° flexion. When used with the lower component (AFO), it allows for torque correction of tibial torsion, applying a direct corrective rotational force on the tibia without any torque on the femur or hip. By overlapping the two components and using touch-fasteners, infinite positions of adjustments can be made to determine the amount of torque desired and the growth of the leg during correction.

Pedi-Walker
Manufacturer: Wheaton Brace

The Pedi-Walker is useful for post-operative splinting and stable fractures of the ankle and foot. Its body is made from polyethylene, providing superior immobilization of the foot and ankle. Convenient straps allow adjustment for swelling or removal for skin care. The Pedi-Walker is inexpensive and ready-made in six sizes to fit children between 3 and 10 years of age.
